The Crane Resort & Residences occupies a dramatic high cliff on the Southeast coast of Barbados, swept by fresh, invigorating breezes. This famous property overlooks a half-mile of white soft sands known as Crane Beach, recently named ‘one of the top ten beaches in the world’ by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
In 1887, The Crane was the first resort hotel in Barbados. Today, this tranquil residential resort offers a place of quiet elegance and understated sophistication. Luxuries and conveniences are decidedly twenty-first century; complimentary Internet access and whisper quiet air-conditioning. Native mahogany hand-crafted furnishings decorate the grand residences, also complete with fully-equipped kitchens with granite counters and marble bathrooms boasting luxurious whirlpool tubs and spa showers.
For the ultimate retreat, opt for a private residence with private plunge pool offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Crane’s historic main swimming pool has been the setting for countless fashion photographs all over the world and the pristine 1.5 acre multi-cascading pool and Jacuzzi complex offers a relaxing haven for guests.
The resort has a full service Concierge offering car rental , activities planning, restaurant bookings and in-room spa treatments
Dining options include contemporary Caribbean cuisine at the a la carte L’AZure Restaurant, which is also the setting for the ever-popular Sunday Gospel Breakfast. Zen Restaurant, Zagats top rated restaurant on the island, offers authentic Asian cuisine; where native Thai and Japanese chefs create rare and exotic delicacies before a wall of glass 50 feet above the sea and amidst classical Japanese surroundings. The newly opened Carriage House poolside restaurant serves up refreshing cocktails and light cuisine during the day.
The Crane offers two different types of accommodations: 1887 Resort Apartments and Private Residences.
1887 Resort Apartments - The Crane's original historic hotel boasts charming, spacious oceanfront apartments with hardwood floors, 12' ceilings and exquisite antique furniture. Many rooms in this unique building also feature fully equipped kitchens and wrap-around balconies with spectacular ocean views.
Private Residences - By marrying nineteenth century grandeur and furnishings with twenty-first century luxuries, conveniences and world-class amenities in its new development of private residence units Barbados' oldest vacation hotel has created a level of exclusive resort living to be enjoyed by its guests.
Private residences at The Crane boast the finest in furniture and finishes, including hand-crafted Barbadian mahogany furniture, objects d'art, mahogany four-poster king size beds, spa showers with multiple shower heads, private Jacuzzis, oriental carpets, cable TVs, and DVD players.
The setting, however, provides the true feel of the property: old-world coral stone walls, hardwood floors, 10' high timber tray ceilings, central air-conditioning, floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms, and amazing ocean views of The Crane's crystal clear, turquoise waters.
One, two- and three-bedroom residences also feature the conveniences of a full fridge with in-door icemaker, smooth top stove, dishwasher and private washer and dryer. Junior suites offer a mini-kitchen and a garden view.
Each ground floor residence at The Crane carries a full-sized pool with a "disappearing edge," ranging from 14 to 28 ft in length, while all upstairs two-bedroom residences feature private plunge pools.
